Treating Dry Mouth

1) Speak with your physician about medications that may cause dry mouth

2) Eat smaller meals more frequently for increased salivary flow

3) Increase fluid intake, primarily water, taking small sips regularly

4) Avoid or minimize exposure to climate controlled environments

5) Sleep using a humidifier keeping levels around 40-50%

6) If a tobacco user, stop using immediately

7) Sugar-free candy, gum, fruit rinds and pits can help increase saliva

8) Try artificial saliva or dry mouth gels 2-3 times daily

9) Avoid mouth rinses containing witch hazel or alcohol
